About Us

Our philosophy

We are an academic co-operative, based on three beliefs: first, that that the largest share of the price of an academic book belongs to the author or editor; second that academic and educational publishing need not cost the earth (in terms of price or consumption of resources); and third, that electronic publishing can be as elegant as the best conventional printing.

We publish elegant, high quality ebooks, well designed, easy to use, and easily affordable by individual scholars, graduate students, and smaller libraries. Almost all of our page-formatted pdf titles are available to Libraries through MyiLibrary.com and we are also converting as many titles as possible for use on such devices as Amazon's Kindle and Apple's iPad (titles involving complex tables and detailed illustrations are not convertible to reflowable format).

New titles are peer-reviewed. Publication is rapid, and revisable. And authors may choose to have a print-on-demand version prepared for sale directly by Troubador.co.uk or Lulu.com and on Amazon.

To propose a title for an existing series, however provisionally, please email the appropriate Editor as listed on our contacts page. For all other proposals please email
