Part 3 considers the contemporary reception of Sons and Lovers and introduces the main critical approaches to the novel in recent criticism. Part 4 reproduces useful excerpts from Lawrence’s letters relating to the novel, while Part 5 presents an extensive Select Bibliography of secondary criticism.

Andrew Harrison

Andrew Harrison has taught at the universities of East Anglia, Nottingham and Warwick. He has published numerous articles on D. H. Lawrence, and he is the author of D. H. Lawrence and Italian Futurism (2003) and co-editor (with John Worthen) of a casebook of modern critical essays on Sons and Lovers (2005). He is editor of the Journal of D. H. Lawrence Studies.
